|mental blocks and moving on|

It can happen with anything. For writers, they often experience days, months, or years when the words won’t flow. For cooks when the recipe just isn’t right. For photographers when there’s a lack of inspiration despite being surrounded by beauty. And for me, among the whitewater and surfers, I find myself scared, despite knowing what to do.

A fear I’ve never felt before, a fear I want to conquer.

I still respect her power, her greatness — but I’d like to play, a little less fearful, amongst her waves.

I'm a native of Maine, currently living and working in Portland where I write about my favorite travels and new experiences. I have been published on various travel blogs as well as have collaborated on writing projects with companies such as the travel search engine Hipmunk and Spanish hotel chain Bahia Principe. When I'm not writing, I enjoy being on the ocean, sipping tasty wines, waking up to strong coffee, and sharing all these things with my friends. You can follow my writing at
